A complimentary 15-minute phone call to discuss your concerns, answer your questions, and determine whether Alpine Blooms is the right fit for your family.
The assessment consists of a 45-minute in-person assessment with your child, followed by a separate 15-minute phone consultation with the caregiver to review findings and recommendations.
The assessment is designed to get to know both your child and your family. Together, we'll identify your child's strengths and communication needs, develop individualized therapy goals, and determine whether nature-based or home-based therapy is the best fit.
Written reports are available upon request and are billed separately.
A note on assessment location: Initial assessments may take place in your home or in Surrey Bend Regional Park. The assessment location will be determined after reviewing your intake information to ensure the environment best supports your child's engagement, safety, and communication needs.
Following the assessment, therapy will be provided in the setting that best supports your child's strengths, goals, and learning style. Therapy may take place in one of the following settings:
Nature-based therapy takes place in Surrey Bend Regional Park. Through movement, play, and meaningful real-life experiences, children develop communication skills in natural environments while learning to use those skills confidently in everyday life.
Sessions take place rain or shine unless weather conditions are deemed unsafe. If a session needs to be cancelled due to severe weather, you'll be notified as early as possible. Please dress your child in weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear so they can comfortably participate in outdoor activities.
Home-based therapy may be recommended when a child would benefit from focused practice on specific communication goals within a familiar environment. It also provides opportunities to incorporate therapy into everyday routines and coach caregivers within the home environment.
When clinically appropriate, therapy may transition to nature-based sessions as children grow in confidence and if it supports their goals.
Home-based appointments are offered in limited numbers and are currently available in select areas of Coquitlam and Surrey.
Additional services are available based on your child's individual needs and are billed according to the time required to complete the service.
